Connecticut Mattress Recycling Fee

In Connecticut, a mattress recycling fee is collected at the point of sale on all new mattresses and foundations. As of January 1, 2025, the fee is $16.00 per unit. This fee is assessed to fund the Connecticut Mattress Stewardship Program, managed by the Mattress Recycling Council (MRC). The fee is remitted to the MRC and used to pay for the collection, transportation, and recycling of discarded mattresses.
